Men's Underwear Size Guide for UAE: How to Get the Right Fit

Underwear sizing isn't universal. Different brands use different measurements, and in the UAE, where men come from dozens of different countries with different sizing conventions, the confusion is real. This guide covers how to find your size with Unluckies — and how to think about fit more generally.

Unluckies Size Chart

Unluckies boxer briefs use waist measurement in centimetres as the primary sizing reference.

Size Waist (cm) Waist (inches)
S 72–80 28–31"
M 80–88 31–34"
L 88–96 34–37"
XL 96–104 37–40"
XXL 104–114 40–44"

How to Measure

Use a soft measuring tape around the narrowest part of your waist — usually just above the hip bone, not where your trousers sit. Stand relaxed, don't suck in. The tape should be snug but not tight.

If you're between sizes, size up. MicroModal fabric has a small amount of natural give, but boxer briefs should feel secure without compressing. Too small means restricted movement and discomfort; too large means the waistband rolls and the fit is loose.

Inseam: The Other Measurement That Matters

Beyond waist size, inseam length affects how underwear performs throughout the day.

7" inseam (Unluckies Originals): Sits mid-thigh. Enough coverage to prevent inner-thigh friction during normal daily activity. The everyday length for most men.

9" inseam (Unluckies Comfort Fit): Longer coverage. Eliminates thigh friction entirely, which makes it ideal for men with more athletic builds, those who walk longer distances, or anyone wearing traditional Gulf dress (kandoura or thobe) where a longer inseam prevents bunching and riding.

Common Sizing Mistakes

Buying the same size as your trousers: Trouser waist sizing is often 2–3cm larger than your actual waist measurement due to how garments are cut. Measure directly rather than using your trouser size as a reference.

Choosing tight for more support: Compression isn't the same as support. Properly sized MicroModal provides the right hold without restricting blood flow or movement. If you feel constricted, size up.

Ignoring inseam length: Most men just pick waist size and ignore inseam. In the UAE, where inner-thigh friction is amplified by heat and humidity, the 9" option is worth considering if you've ever experienced discomfort with standard-length boxer briefs.
